The Randy Schopen Foundation has recently awarded a $1,000 grant to the Jefferson EMS Department to assist the department in purchasing of a GE Carescape V100 monitor.
This particular monitor is used by numerous hospitals and clinics, including Fort Healthcare’s Emergency and Urgent Care Departments, for the purpose of patient triage. The monitor we are seeking funding for will outfit the new clinic style treatment room within our new EMS facility. Our ultimate goal is to eventually have this treatment room serve as a walk-in style clinic during regular business hours that will provide blood pressure checks and blood sugar checks for citizens of the community. This particular piece of equipment will allow Jefferson EMS personnel to rapidly and accurately assess a patient’s blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and temperature.
The total cost of this piece of equipment is $3,000. The Schopen Foundation has assisted us in taking a tremendous step forward toward purchasing this equipment. JEMS is seeking other donors to assist us in reaching our goal of $3,000.
